My first son would have been Maija.
Second Son, Maia or Freyja
Any healthy baby would do this time around, but a daughter would be doubly exciting!!!
SO....
For TTC #3...
First I will share the Girl List:
Maya-->Meaning many things in many cultures in this and in variant forms ie:spring/fertility/abundance etc (...smartened up about spelling...or did I? Which spelling is best and why?)
Freya-->Scandinavian Goddess of beauty/Fertility
(-do you you like with or without "J"?)
*Saskia--> "Valley of Light"
*My Oma was a War-Bride from Amsterdam...I heard of this Dutch name and fell in love.
Saskia is very rare here in Canada.
Many people here (ie:my mother) say it is "weird" and reminds them of the mythical beast of the moutain forests, the "SASQUATCH"
(I don't see it...)
Please tell me what you think about Saskia!
Also, please help me come up with middle names & combos with names provided...
I love:
Willow
Piper
Bellanca
Chandra
Soleil (pron. "So-Lay")
Aisling
Rhiannon
Paloma
Amaia
Yasmin
Sorcha
*BTW, Her surname would be McGrath (pron. McGraw)
I love Soleil, however, I run into a combo like:
Maya Soleil
and it could sound a bit too much like
"My A$$hole, eh?" if spoken in a questioning tone...
Thanks for your consideration/thoughts on the matter!
P.S.
Out of curiosity, how common or rare are each of these name choices in the UK and Europe?
On this continent Maya (mya, Maia, etc) is becoming quite common --but I still adore it!
