No keen and seems to be a lot of them.

One of those horrible American names that's drifted over here...like Corey.

It is of hebrew origin meaning steadfastness and constancy. I like it and it's popular but not too common, where I live.

I like it. Is quite popular these days I thought, though not excessively so.

Fine biblical name. Quite a few nearby, but nothing like (say) Joshua and Oscar, which - nice names as they are - are ubiquitous.

I like it.

It's a fine name. I really like it. Ignore all the people saying it is American and silly and remember the real origin .

Reminds me of Ethan Hawke (who was cute when he was younger!)

I don't like it. Ethan Hawke is a nob, and also it makes me think 'ether'.

Not one of my faves either - like the meaning but not the sound.

Report
belgo · 23/05/2008 12:20

It's fine. No objection to it.

I kept calling a friend's DS Ethan.....for ages, until one day she quietly corrected me that it was Evan

I like it, but then there aren't many round here.

I like Ethan - know quite a few baby Ethans though so wouldn't use it personally.
