How would you spell Laurie for a girl?

Expecting second baby and having idle baby name chat.

We both like Laurie for a girl but can't agree on how we would spell it.

I like Laurie the best but DH thinks that's the boys spelling. He likes Lori but that looks to me like it should rhyme with Glory?

Any thoughts?

I think Laurie looks like a boy's name - nn for Laurence.

Lori looks better and to me would be pronounced the same as Laurie.

Isn't Laurie said like 'lorry' whereas Lori is more like 'law-ree'? Well that's how it seems to be said on American TV, songs, etc. (could be just the accent maybe).

I could be wrong.

Like your spelling in the OP. Lovely name of a lovely and very cool woman I know.

I'd use Lori as the feminine version.
What about Lowri instead?

In the musical Oklahoma they use Laurey - that makes sense to me, like Leslie/Lesley.

How do you say Laurie? Like glory or like lorry?

I'd say it like Lorry

Laurie just makes sense to me as a variation of Laura or Lauren.

Harkening back to the 70s, the Alessi Brothers pronounced it rhyming with Lorry in their outstandingly memorable one and only hit 'Oh Lori'

Do you think so Confucius? To me it sounds like 'law-ree', rhyming with 'glory'. How does anyone else hear it?

I like Laurie better than Lori. I also like Lorelei though which I guess could be Lori for short sounding like lorry.
