A brother for Lucy

DD is Lucy. I like names that are probably a bit boring - my favourites at the moment are Samuel (Sam) and Benjamin (Ben). DH isn't keen on those, he likes Robert and George best at the moment. It's also a bit tricky as our surname is k-i-n-g, which rules out certain names (eg Jacob is nice but gets shortened to Jake, which sounds very phlegmy with a K surname!)

Names I quite like but cannot use include William, Matthew and Thomas.

Any other ideas?

I can't say James properly! It sounds funny coming from me :)

I like Alexander but my very best friend has one. I know too many Anthonys that I haven't liked... Edward is ruled out (shame, I love Edward nn Ted) as our surname would make the poor sod a potato.

Jack is nice but no good, you either get jacking or a phlegmy sound again.

Henry?

I love the name Tom with Lucy but you have said you can't have Thomas. Is that no list definitely no?

The no list is absolutely emphatically no.

There are some nice names here to think about, thanks everyone, keep them coming :)

I don't think you can use any Royal names without it sounding a bit odd.

George King = King George
William King = King William etc.
