Love all three but especially Hettie, then Ivy then Hetta is Hettie a short version of Harriet?

NoahVale Wed 31-Aug-16 09:07:44

I like Ivy.

have you thought of Iris?

BendydickCuminsnatch Wed 31-Aug-16 09:09:13

The Hettie I know is short for Heather. I like Hettie best, Hetta is OK but I haven't heard of it before. Ivy is just not to my taste but a fine name.

Ivy

Hetty is definitely on the up, I know of two Born recently.

I like Hetta from your list.

Dayna1 Wed 31-Aug-16 09:23:30

I think Ivy or Hettie, because Hetta sounds a bit ... rough for a girl imho.

AliceInHinterland Wed 31-Aug-16 09:25:32

I like Hettie and Hetta - I think there is a Hetta in a Trollope novel short for Henrietta. I prefer Harriet though.

SoftSheen Wed 31-Aug-16 09:29:25

Harriet or Henrietta with Hetty or Hetta as nn.

Pinklily1 Wed 31-Aug-16 09:39:30

I like Ivy the best. Such a lovely name.

I haven't heart of Hetta before, and it's my least favourite of the three - I think it sounds slightly harsh.

Someone else suggested Iris - that's lovely.

MabelFurball Wed 31-Aug-16 12:44:48

Never heard of Hetta. Hetty might get shortened to Het.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle Wed 31-Aug-16 12:51:25

Ivy for me.

I also like pps' suggestions of Henrietta and Iris though. Also, how about Hester?

TheNaze73 Wed 31-Aug-16 12:54:06

They're all lovely names. Great choices op

MumiTravels Wed 31-Aug-16 13:05:20

Ivy.

Not keen on Hetta.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER Wed 31-Aug-16 13:11:22

There's a Hetta in a Trollope novel - The Way We Live Now (brilliant read!) - but it's short for Henrietta.
Why not give her the full version, and use the nn if you prefer? That would give her the option later.

I know it's a generational thing, but to me Ivy is very old lady-ish, and I'm afraid it's the type of old lady in a pinny, with rollers in her hair and a fag hanging out of her mouth.

Scarydinosaurs Wed 31-Aug-16 13:35:46

Ivy and Hettie are lovely.

Francesca and Frankie might appeal too?

MrsCaecilius Wed 31-Aug-16 14:03:59

I know a Hetta NMM from Henrietta. Really pretty OP!.

dailymaillazyjournos Wed 31-Aug-16 14:49:17

I love Hettie. Not keen on the others

KoalaDownUnder Wed 31-Aug-16 14:53:11
