Harvey or Tobias?

It would be their choice whether to go by the nickname Toby!

Cheers x

Harvey

Tobias, it's unusual without being weird. Harvey is more common and I like names you don't hear often.

Prefer Tobias, Harvey just reminds me of Harveys furniture land, sorry.

I also prefer Tobias! It's unusual but lovely and yes I agree with above that it sounds manly. Toby is also lovely.
Harvey is nice too but I think it's more commonly used as a name and I've even known it as a surname.

Thank you everyone for your opinions on the names! I do think Tobias is the one 😃 Toby is a good nickname for a child and teenager but then Tobias as an adult! Thanks everyone!

Toby is actually getting pretty common. Nice name, but don't go for it because it's unusual.
Toby/Tobias together with the other t name Theo may well be racing up the charts soon.

Harvey.

I like Toby, but have never warmed to Tobias for some reason (might be the "bias" sound in it).

I think Tobias is lovely and Toby is a great nickname. Harvey is nice but not as good imo.

Tobias, though I really don't like Toby.

Tobias. Taught too many naughty Harveys!

Harvey just makes me think of Katie Price/Jordan.

So it's Tobias for me

Tobias, it's a good name, manly too, I'm sure you could nickname as something other than Toby too, just T for example.

Harvey is not manly, it reminds me of stuffed toys and an unkind, spoilt child I taught.

Tobias

Oh and 'why'?

Because Tobias was the protagonist of a reading scheme I devoured when I was 5. He was great.

More seriously because Tobias sounds bookish, open and fresh faced to me. Harvey sounds like a thrusting executive.

Sorry but neither

Harvey just doesn't sound nice to me and Toby/Tobias has been made very stale for me by the many babies with that name around where I live-South East.

So maybe some alternative suggestions, kind of with the same "Tobias" vibe:

Ferdinand (Ferdy)
Gregory (Gregor)
Lucien
Torin
Malachi (Mal)
Any of these appeal?

Enjoy the journey!

Harvey.
Tobias makes me think of the character in arrested development.

Tobias.

I'm not keen on Harvey because I think of it as a surname and I also know 3 dogs called Harvey.

I much prefer Tobias/Toby. Tobias is sophisticated and interesting. Toby is cool and manly. Harvey (imo) is nowhere near as classy or intelligent-sounding.
