Baby names

Baby due any day, and DH has changed his mind on the name...

So after thinking we'd settled on Eloise as a first name, DH now thinks that he prefers the name Annabel, and the discussions have started all over again... I'm too tired and hormonal to even think straight, so I'd love some MN wisdom to help us get this baby's name sorted once and for all!

Eloise Angelica Perry (DH's favourite combo if we choose Eloise)
Eloise Beatrice Perry
Eloise Annabel Perry (love this but as one name starts with an 'El' sound, and the other ends with 'El', is that a no-no?)
Eloise Annabella Perry
Eloise Rosa Perry
Eloise Aurelia Perry

Annabel Rosa Perry
Annabel Rosalie Perry
Annabel Grace Perry
Annabel Rose Perry
Annabel Tabitha Perry
(I don't LOVE any of the MN options listed with Annabel, so open to suggestions...)

Thank a lot on advance for your input...

Eloise Angelica is very pretty.

Tell him not to mess with you this close to labour. You could break his knuckles later in revenge Smile

Either are lovely.

Maybe decide once she's here?

I think Eloise Annabel is fine so go with that!

Eloise Angelica is totally fabulous.

On the other hand, Annabel is gorgeous and was on my shortlist. Sorry, that's not helpful. Let's try some more exciting mn combos:

Annabel Juliet
Annabel Natalia
Annabel Celine
Annabel Mathea
Annabel Seraphine
Annabel Melinda
Annabel Victoria
Annabel Nicolette
Annabel Ottilie
Annabel Veronica
Annabel Felicity
Annabelle (mixing things up!) Thérèse
Annabelle Carina
Annabelle Jessamine
Annabella Jeanne
Annabella Marine

Mn aside, she will be Eloise Perry or Annabel Perry most of the time. Which do you imagine seeing on the birth certificate? Yelling at the park? Registering for school? Good luck Smile

Yes, I would use your two favourite names together.

Stick with Eloise Angelica.

Eloise far more fab than Annabel.

Tell him it's too late and the deal is done! Wink

Eloise is far nicer than Annabel.

Eloise is nicer than Annabel IMO. Annabel is fine but sounds a little doll-like for me. Why not go with Eloise Annabel? Or wait until she's born and decide then.

Eloise!!! Lovely name :)

Eloise Beatrice is stunning

I love Eloise Angelica

But I prefer Annabel to Eloise and she will just be called by her first name most of the time

(as a curve ball Angelica would make an unusual and fantastic first name?!)

Really love Raine 's mn suggestions for Annabel - especiall Jessamine, Nicolette and Victoria.

Eloise Annabel is lovely and is definitely not a no-no

I love Annabel Tabitha. Two of my favourite names ever. I'm not keen on Eloise, and Annabel seems much more classic.

I don't like Angelica at all. Eloise Beatrice is perfect IMO.

Decide when she's here. We were at loggerheads over two boys names in the end (didn't know what we were having) but when DS was born he was clearly only suited to one of them.

Eloise Annabel sounds great, it's not weird having el at the end at all. Go with that.

Unless you might have another DD and want to save Annabel for then?

I am not so keen on Eloise. Love Annabel though!

I love Annabel! :)

Eloise Annabel Perry is my favourite Eloise name combo...

What about Annabel Eloise Perry?

I wouldn't feel pushed into deciding now, wait until you see her and choose then, you've got some lovely names on your list and I'm sure you'll soon work out what's best.

Ooh, Eloise over Annabel any day!

I actually like how Eloise Annabel sounds - the repeated sound isn't obvious IMO, and I think it gives the name a kind of balance and symmetry.

I also love Eloise Aurelia.

Thanks for all the responses so far. I prefer the nickname options for Annabel (Anna, Belle, Bella) but worry that the name will get lost in the sea of Isabelles, Isobels and Isabellas... those names are so very common in my neck of the woods. Eloise seems more unusual, somehow, but I don't love Ellie (Ellie Perry doesn't work!) or 'Weez', and my friends and family are habitual name-shorteners!

It doesn't help that I live overseas at the moment, and I have to file the baby's birth certificate before I leave the hospital. There's huge pressure to get it right as it is a very long-winded and expensive process to change it after the fact!

PLEASE keep the opinions coming in! I will show the thread to DH and hopefully we can come to an agreement

I know an adult Eloise and she never, ever gets El or Ellie.

She is also extremely smart, cool and witty. Smile
