Simple vote, if you don't like either then each to their own but no need to comment :)

Asher, by a mile

Asher - it's a proper name (one of Joseph's brothers in the Bible I think), and has a nice sound.

Archer doesn't work well as a first name, you feel like he'll need a bow and arrow.

I like Archie, but not Archer. Ash is a really cute/cool shortening! I vote Asher :)

Asher definately!

Archer may end up as Archie - that's way overused and will date soon imo.

Asher, it's biblical, has a sense of gravitas to it.

Archer sounds a bit American, made up, try hard for me (even if it isn't).

Asher. It's a name. Archer is a job description.

Definitely Archer. Arch or Archie are good nicknames too. Asher sounds wishy washy to me and I would assume a boy called Ash was named Ashley, which I really dislike.

Asher also immediately reminds me of Brimful of Asha, but that's just me showing my age! No one in England pronounces the 'er' so you get 'Asha'. (I guess the same could be said for Archer though...)

Absolutely love Asher. Absolutely hate Archer. I think they are very different names, with very different connotations.

Archer.

Asher is awful.

Asher, but I know a lovely asher. Archer just sounds like a made up name.

Love Archer. Strong, masculine, poetic sounding.
Asher = meh. I don't really like the way it sounds when said out loud.

Another vote for Archer here. Great name. But then mine are Angus & Archie so I am biased.

(Amy Poelher's kids are Archie & Abel, and the woman is a genius :). Incredibly cute imo. )
