Oh, I LOVE Esther.

Your whole list is beautiful (except not a huge fan of Gloria or Rowena).

I like Christabel, Clarabel, Gloria and Rowena.

allegretto Sat 16-Jan-16 15:58:37

Brutally honest - love them all except Annora (sounds a bit medical) and Clarabel (cow's name to me) and Gloria (know one I don't like).

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit Sat 16-Jan-16 16:03:40

Love Esther and Cora, great names.

CrystalMcPistol Sat 16-Jan-16 16:06:21

I love Gloria.

Don't really like any of the others.

Soooosie Sat 16-Jan-16 16:07:43

Esther is stunning. Head and shoulders above the others

Helmetbymidnight Sat 16-Jan-16 16:12:06

Gosh, I haven't heard or thought of an Esther for years.

Can be cute, smart or glamorous. I like it!

DizzyDancer Sat 16-Jan-16 16:15:31

I like Esther and I like Jemima.

Everything else I'm not keen on

bananastar Sat 16-Jan-16 16:17:11

I absolutely love esther but I'm biased because that what my 6 week old is calledgrin

CrystalMcPistol Sat 16-Jan-16 16:17:15

Esther to me just sounds a bit Puritan and stuffy.

ashesandfire Sat 16-Jan-16 17:03:30

I love Esther and Cora.
Don't like the rest although I think Clara is lovely.

autumnmoon Sat 16-Jan-16 17:35:52

Esther is by far the nicest of the bunch!

Ruth
Martha
Alice

We know an Esther and I love it - she gets Ettie for short which I think is cute

nellyflora Sat 16-Jan-16 19:47:48

I like Esther, lion and ranzon do jump into my head strangely but it's a lovely name has history and is strong.
Annora I have never heard before so looks wrong to me.
Christabel I don't like
Clarabel is a cow ( I quite like cows btw) I actually think it's rather nice
Cora nice hearing it a lot recently probably due to downton
Gloria I don't like this one
Jemima very sweet and girly
Rowena I just don't like

Esther, clarabel , Cora or Jemima from your list

Robertaquimby Sat 16-Jan-16 20:17:15

Esther is much the best.

mrsschu Sun 17-Jan-16 12:51:08

Cora is the only one I like. At all. In particular I'd avoid Christabel and Clarabel, they sound silly and girly. I can't imagine a grown woman being called either.

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit Sun 17-Jan-16 12:55:35

I know a grown up called Christabel and I've never thought of her name as silly or girly. How odd hmm

CaptainWarbeck Sun 17-Jan-16 12:57:49

Could also go with Essie as a nn. Esther is a lovely name.

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth Sun 17-Jan-16 13:02:59

Esther is a gorgeous name. Pretty but strong.

Suzietwo Sun 17-Jan-16 18:02:14

I love Gloria.
I have a family member who is ether, under 10. She's known as esti. I didn't like it when she was born and it hasn't grown on me

Soooosie Sun 17-Jan-16 18:23:55

You could always have Clara Belle using belle as a middle name

Stoneagemum Sun 17-Jan-16 19:37:44

Esther, common nn, es, est, essie but only when young (from experience, may have to name change now blush)

Allthatnonsense Sun 17-Jan-16 20:13:22

Jemima or Esther

fondationmaeght Sun 17-Jan-16 22:27:47
