Baby names

Need some suggestions. No name and due May 5th

We haven't even really spoken properly about names yet. I'm Due on the 5th but both of my kids came earlier and I'm already showing signs so I think this one will come earlier too. We don't know the gender, and we have a 12 year old son Colin (who passed away in sept.) and a 5 year old girl, Ava.

As we haven't come up with any I will give some names we talked about during our last 2 searches to give some ideas:

For girls:
Lucy or Lily
Erin
Ruby

And boys: (middle will be Colin)
James
Henry
Owen
Max

We don't really like any of these that much anymore. We want something that's less popular... I do still like Erin but DH isn't sure about it so it's off too. Ava is the only Ava in her class but there's a few others in her school and I want something less popular this time. Colin was perfect for us when he was born as it was familiar but still not overly common..

Anyone have any name ideas? For a sibling of Colin & Ava?

Thank you in advance, any help you can offer means a lot.

Fwiw, I really like Owen. It ranked 85th last year, so it's not exactly unusual but no where near as popular as Ava.

Thank you both. I do really love Erin. I might bring it back up to my DH.

I like Fiona, Simon, Owen & Laurel. I like Arthur too but I think Ava & Arthur are a little too close

I LOVE the name Colin.

From your list I'd pick Erin and Max. Would he just be Max? I think it would sound better with Colin if there was a longer version. Maxwell Colin/Maximilian Colin.

I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers

So sorry for your loss, beautiful idea to have Colin as a middle name if you have another DS Flowers

For a DD Lauren, Grace, Imogen? I really like Erin from your list and Lucy is nice too.

James Colin sounds lovely, Max Colin also. What about Joshua?

I'm so sorry OP, I speed read your post and didn't read that your son had died. So very sorry for your loss. I think using Colin as a middle name will be a gorgeous tribute Flowers

I think Edward/Eddie would be nice.

Beautiful idea to use Colin as a middle name. You could also have Colleen as a middle name for a girl? So sorry for what you've been through.

So sorry for your loss and if you have a boy it will be a lovely tribute to have Colin as the middle name.

For a girl I think Erin is beautiful. It is not too common. Other names which come to mind are Fiona, Eleanor, Lucia or Cara/Clara.

For a boy I actually really like all your name choices and all work well with Colin. They are quite popular so other names I have thought of are

Alexander Colin
Thomas Colin
Edward Colin
Michael Colin
Matthew Colin

Wishing you a happy and healthy baby and I am sure whichever name you choose will suit them perfectly.

Thank you guys. If he is Max we have thought about using Maxwell on his BC. I like Imogen, Grace, Edward, Amelie, Oscar, Leo, Iris, Phoebe, Seth & Thomas. Will see if DH likes any, hopefully he likes something as we are not getting any closer with picking. I am liking Erin even more but he isn't sure :/

Thank you ladies. I have asked dd what she would name him/her and all she suggested was Elsa or Aladdin bless her. Elsa I do kind of like but I think people would just think of the movie. She does like the name James though as she has a little friend called James.

I like Elise, that's pretty. I read Iris again on another website and the more I think about it the more I do like it. What do you all think? it's definitely a contender as my husband likes it too.

Our baby arrived last night, it's a girl! She is beautiful and we havent decided on a name for sure but we are thinking that she suits Iris almost perfectly. We are kind of stuck between Iris and Erin. Middle name will be Josephine as it honors her brother, his middle name was Joseph. What do you all think?

Need some suggestions. No name and due May 5th
