Hello, I'm due my third daughter in a few weeks and finding it ridiculously difficult to settle on any names......

I have a Kiki who is 5- she's know as Kiki but she is Claudia on her birth certificate (my hub is Ghanaian so it's common to have a pet name and a formal name) our middle daughter is Camille, I loved her name initially but started to regret it when I realised the majority of people don't say it in the way I assumed they would as Cami and she tends to get called Kaameeel. I think because of the name regret I've had with Camille's name I am really intent on finding something which cannot be misspelt, mispronounced or butchered in any way. But also because our surname ends in Y and I have two girly girl names that end in that I, y sound already I want to steer clear this time... If that makes sense!

Anyway- I like Maya, Erin, Josephine and Iris but don't LOVE them, could just be hormones but feeling so unenthused by any suggestions from my oh.....hoping lovely mumsnetters can come up with some suggestions.

Congratulations! Your daughters have lovely names. I have to say that I would pronounce Camille like you're finding the majority do.

How about, Kiki, Cami and

Margot
Elspeth
Edith
Hazel
Eloise
Juliet
Clara
Violet

It doesn't fit with your pronunciation criteria but I knew a little girl called Maye (pronounced My -A rhyming with hay) which is a lovely name and quite similar to Maya. People needed to be told once how to pronounce it then never had any problems.

In French, it's Camee-ye. It's not Cameeel.
Here is an audio example of the French name:

The English version is, of course, Camilla. It is originally a name from Ancient Roman mythology.
