Getting induced tomorrow and still have no name!!

Argh!
He's just to have to be called Baby for the rest of his life, that's acceptable, right?

Hit me with some ideas on boy names please. I'm not going to give any criteria for now, only that it has to go with the surname Lee.

Maybe Patrick Swayze will sweep him off his feet in the Catskills!

You still have time, you can bring him home as Baby and spend a few weeks getting to know him first. Don't panic or pick something you don't like because you think you have to.

Try googling for lists of qualities you like, 'classic masculine boy names' 'unique neutral names', 'boy names popular in 19--' Lee isn't a difficult surname, I can only think of avoiding names like Billy. And perhaps avoiding one syllable names.

Maybe!

I would really like to find a name though, I figure if I've had 9 months to find one then another 6 weeks after he's born won't make a difference. I know it sounds silly but I really want to announce his arrival including his name, it's just part of it for me.

With Lee, I'd avoid names or nicknames ending in -ie or -ee, or very short names.

I like
Reuben Lee
Quentin Lee
Nathan Lee
Jonathan Lee
Dominic Lee

We do have a little shortlist but I'm not in love with anything on it. It's
Dominic
Henry
Theodore
Joshua
Rowan

DP loves names like Aaron (he wants it pronounced Air On), Thomas, Joseph etc but I find them a bit boring. They're nice enough though.

I prefer names like Freddie, Jesse, Elijah but we can't use them. Lots of nice names have been used by close friends and family as well.

I'd like some ideas on other names I might not have thought of. I don't like names like Cassius or Arlo though, I've got quite a common accent and feel a bit pretentious using something like that.

I love Freddie and Elijah, I think they sound fine with Lee if that's the only thing putting you off them?

Otherwise I really like Rowan and Joseph (although would likely be shortened to Joe Lee which perhaps doesn't work!)

Freddie Lee sounds like an adverb, freddily.

Jacob is DS1 and I love that on him.
Elijah was used by a close friend a few weeks ago, Freddie is my favourite but DP hates it. A lot of other names have been used too closely to us as well and I'd feel a bit cheeky nicking them! I don't mind Oliver though.

Still not loving anything though iykwim. He really is going to just be called Baby!

I agree with Rachel234 about Freddily and I think you need to avoid anything that ends in -ie for that reason.

Elijah is nice but I'm not sure about Eli Lee.

How about ...

Caleb
Ethan
Daniel
Noah

Sam.

Sam Lee sounds awesome and badass.

I don't think you could have Frankie. He might end up being Frank Lee (Frankly).

I love James for a boy. James Lee sounds nice.

Others that would go with Lee:

George
Samuel
Harrison

With such a surname any long, strong and beautful name will sound great! I don't think short names like Joe, Mike, etc will be as good with Lee as long (Alexander, Sebastian, Tristan)

See I really like Zachary but whenever I say it as a possible name it's met with Confused Hmm faces, I know it shouldn't but that does put me off it.
Love Elliot but we used it as a middle name for DS.

A lot of the rest suggested have been vetoed by DP or myself. I should really stop being such a fussy bugger!

Roseberry good luck for tomorrow.

I desperately wanted my baby to have a name before leaving the delivery room. As it happened had a difficult birth and DH said what about X? (a name we'd discussed but he'd never agreed to any) and in my condition I agreed. I just didn't feel I could change it after saying yes and have regretted it ever since.

So my advice would be don't be panicky, take your time together and be happy with your choice.

Thanks Hen, I'm getting nervous now!
You're right, I don't want to rush in to a name just so I can announce it. It's a big deal that it must feel right for me, you know that feeling you get when you just think "yeah, that's perfect"?
Maybe I'm just finding it hard because I've not seen him yet. Hopefully something will jump out at us once he's born.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, have managed to add a few more to my list :)
