What are your thoughts on Ivan?

Strange? Popular? Unusual? Boring? Nice? Horrid?

I like it. Not common at all around here, but not massively out there either.

Though Ifan would probably be more likely around these parts.

I think it sounds quite harsh name but that may not bother you if your going for the whole 'strong' feel.

The Terrible.

Sorry.

Like it. Knew one at school Grin. Strong name in my opinion.

I like it. No one will have trouble spelling it and his teachers are unlikely to have to call him Ivan surname initial to distinguish him from other Ivans.

I like it. There was one the year above me at school. And I know another of a similar age - early 40s. My dc are 5 and 2 and I have never come across any small ones.

Depends on your nationality. Id assume Eastern Europe/ Russia and it was pronounced Ee-van not Ai-vun.

Horrid. But love Evan.

I love it. It's uncommon and classic.

Lovely. One of my favourite names for boys (along with Percy, so you might want to ignore me).

I don't like it, it's an old man name to me.

Love Evan, though.

I love it, unfortunately DH doesn't! Also like Ivo very much.

I know a few Ivans of different ages. I think it's an interesting choice - a proper name, quite unusual, recognisable, and not that common.
