We love it, and used it years ago on the cat as we didnt want to jinx kids by saving it (daft I know!!).

Id use it as a first name if the cat wasnt around aby more but he is strong as an ox and likely to be around another ten years.

WWYD?

I think you can assuming it's not Tibbles.

Of course! As long as it's not Tigger or Mr Jinks Smile

I know someone who used her fave girl name for her cat which was still alive some years later when she had her daughter but used the same name for her anyway. No one said anything to her face but the nasty comments behind her back were unbelievable. Everyone thought she had named her after the cat.

Yes. I do know someone who was named after their parent's dog. He seemed strangely proud of it.

When I was single I had a much adored cat called Jonathan. Wanted to use it as DS middle name but husband objected. Big regrets! So do it!

I rescued a cat that the owners got rid of because it was called Tilly and they wanted to call their daughter Tilly. Poor cat was 11yrs old.

KillashandraRee that is terrible! They could have changed the cat's name. None of my cats answered to their name anyway.....

I'd be quite happy to be called after a loved pet, brilliant pub story.

Also - middle name - she really doesn't have to tell everyone!

No problem at all! I think as a child I would have quite liked to have shared a name with the cat - except he was a boy!

Our DD has a very similar name to our dog (think along lines of Molly and Milly). I know, totally barking (ahem) but dog passed away when DD was 6 month old. Dog was 15 when DD was born so I knew it was coming. I am sure people did raise eyebrows but do I care? Nope.

We all do sometimes call her by wrong name but I just chuckle.
