Hi,

We are struggling to find a girls name.

We would like something that will sound professional when they are older but can also be shortened to something more fun.

ie Charlotte May - shortened to Charlie.

We thought of Imogen but it doesn't really shorten.

Would like something thats a bit different and not too common.

Any ideas?

Imogen can by Imi or Mimi or G/Jen if that helps.
Julia can be Ju or Jules
Rosanne can be Rosie
What sort of names do you like?

Annabel/le? Can shorten to Annie or Belle, but has a more formal Annabel if needed.
Eloise, shortened to Ellie or Lola?
I agree that Imogen can be shortened, I'd probably shorten it to Gen/Genny.

Imogen can be shortened to Jennie.

How about:
Marianne or Maria (both of which can be shortened to Mimi)
Elizabeth (many options - I know one who is called Buzz by her family)
Caroline (Carrie or Cassie)
Helena (Nell)
Suzanna (Suzie)
Rosalind (Rosie)
Cristina (Tina)
Josephine (Posy)

Linley ( dims. Lin, Linny). Unusual without being too 'try hard' and not girlie.
