Aurelia or Arya?

My DH loves Aurelia but I think it may be a bit 'fancy' and difficult for a child to pronounce. I thought Arya could be an alternative.

Opinions? Or what else should we consider?

Yes Aurelia is very hard to pronounce. Which means that I can't pronounce it.

I like Arya, although I think it will rise in popularity due to GofT.

Aurelia is such a beautiful name. If I had a dd3 it is the name I would use. Arya is in my opinion not nearly as lovely.

I'm afraid when I saw Arya, I thought Aryan and I wouldn't use a name with such resonances.

I'm with meditrina... Arya instantly made me think of Aryan and I'm not even too familiar with the word and the issues but it has instant negative connotations (for me). Sorry.
I do love Aurelia though!

Afrikat, absolutely right! I knew I'd heard it pronounced by a non-English speaker and it had sounded beautiful. Perhaps not so much if you live in Bootle.

How about Aria? It's a legitimate non-game-of-thrones name, with both Hebrew and Italian (musical) origins.

Arya is such a nothing name. Not familiar with Game of Thrones.

Pronounced like Aria, I think it's pretty, but I'm not so keen on the way they pronounce it in GoT, which is more like 'Are-ya', like 'are ya going out'. Aurelia seems more like a real name, less trendy IYSWIM.
