I e just read a book wih a baby in it called Glorianna. Glory for short. I really quite like it!

Possibly in the future. I love Glory as the shortened version. Anna would be bad. Im Catherine Anne. DD is called Catherine, (family tradition). If I had an Anna too people would think I was very odd! odd, me? definitely not!

I like it, though have usually seen it with one N (like Queen Elizabeth I), and pronounced -ahna at the end and not -anna. Or Gloria is pretty too!

I'm really sorry but I'm not a fan. Sounds like a guest on Jeremy Springer to me! I know it should sound angelic and elegant but it doesn't to my ears. And she would possibly be sung "glory glory hallelujah" at school.

There was a baddie in Buffy the Vampire Slayer called Glory (useless knowledge). Gloriana also makes me think of Elizabeth I.
According to my baby names book, in 'The Faerie Queen', Spenser also called her Astraea, Belphoebe and Mercilla(!)

Gloriana is much better, though. The Elizabeth I associations rescue it a bit from the pornstar association and make it seem more "classic".

Gloriana is better for me too, although I'm afraid I'm not convinced abut Glory. You might like Galina, or Clodagh? (sorry, not much logic there - those were just the first names I associated with it!)

That, together with its Elizabeth I roots, makes me think of it as a royal name.
