Hi, am expecting number 3, dont know the sex. Absolutely love the name Alexa for a girl but my husband says its a bit chavy. I always thought it was quite a traditional name. My two boys are called Henry & George so need something traditional to fit in with that.
whats your thoughts on Alexa - chavy or posh??
Thanks.

Neither, just not very nice!
Neither. But I don't like it, sorry.

I don't think matches very well with your boys names, sorry. And to me doesn't sound particularly chav or posh, but reminds me of a character in a Barbie movie or something

This has made me realise that you need to go with a name that you love. Asking opinions of people you dont know can have a big impact on your decision. I posted recently about a few girls names and really considered what people said.
Now ive realised that there would be no point listening to the people in the above posts as they have very different taste to me.
I have an Alexa. I think it is a beautiful strong and elegant name. Definitely not chavvy.
Nice of people to take the time to post but dont dwell too much on these comments. Go with what you love.

I quite like Alexa, it's neither posh nor chavvy.
Alexa Chung has probably given it a bit of a boost.

Love it, doesn't seem chavvy or posh to me. I'd put it in the same category as Robyn or Merryn or Kristen. A cool non-frilly girl's name
It's nice. Alexandra is far more beautiful a name, which you could shorten to Alexa if you wished.

I think Alexa is a beautiful name, strong and will stand the test of time.
I wouldn't name her Alexandra and shorten it to Alexa- they are both different names entirely.
Go with what you like, opinions on here are just that- opinions of people you don't know. I think it fits well with your other children's names.

Just choose it if you like it.

I actually really, really like it.
The thing is, there is no universal name that everyone likes, so you really just have to go with the name you like.
And, in fact, the sorts of names lots of people really like become dull through overuse, and then eventually date. Not a great option, either.
So, going with a slightly left-field, some-love-it-some-don't name suddenly starts to have a lot more appeal.
I like Alexa. Go for it! not chavvy at all.

I have a friend called Alexa and she is neither chavvy nor posh - she's a very beautiful, generous and intelligent lady.
But don't pay attention to me - if you love it, go with it! ;)

I like it.
The words chavvy and posh should be banned from the baby name threads.

I love it. Deffo not chavvy to me. Classy, elegant, pretty. I like it much more than Alexandra or Alexia.

I agree usual chavvy and posh references are pretty shabby.

I think it's okay. It sounds a bit chavvy as it sounds like Lexi which is really chavvy IMO.
Love your boys names and I think girls names that would be nice are
Elizabeth (Eliza or Betty would be very cute)
Katherine
Rosalie
