Short girls names in same vein as Lois and Tess?

After much debate and near war, DH has finally agreed to liking both Lois and Tess as potential names for our DD. I just wonder if I am overlooking anything similar? I like the idea of the 's' or another consonant at the end of the name, as our first daughter's name ends in a vowel (similarly short). All suggestions welcome, please?

Can't think of anything that ends in an "S".

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately Ruth will be the baby's aunt, so that's a no go. A few others we had already ruled out, including Erin and Beth. Will put some of the rest to DH.

We considered Esme but neither of us was consistently pronouncing it the same and we didn't want to have the think twice every time we speak to our daughter! Wink

Lara, Clara etc all too similar to DD1.

Love iris but it doesn't work with surname and Alice is one DH likes but I don't.

Plenty still left though!

It doesn?t quite fit, but it?s similar to Lois ? Eloise?

Report
HastaLanugo · 17/10/2012 17:41

Grin cheese, we seriously considered Eloise for DD1 then realised that in a thick Scottish accent, like many of my family's, It sounded like someone trying to catch the attention of a Louise ("eh! Louise!). Really nice name if said properly, but my dad would take the shine off pretty quickly, I'm afraid.

However, we do seem to have hit a winning theme seeing as so many of these suggestions are names we have considered. And we've gained a few more, which is a good thing as Lois was ruined for DH today. bah!

I have suggested Isis and Ines so many times and he said no.

Thanks all. Smile

Alas, DH has ruled out Welsh names telsa which is kind of fair enough considering DD will have Scottish, Irish and England blood, but not a drop of Welsh Wink.

The last two posts have included three cousins, one best friend, one best friend's daughter and another friend's daughter. Damn those people who got there first!

But my list is building. Husband back home tonight after a few days away, so I will be able to put these to him. Thanks.
