Can't find any discussions about this name (maybe I'm not looking hard enough lol), but came across it today and wondered what the general feeling is about it?

It sounds Greek to me. Probably isn't though.

Quite pretty and much nicer than Tabitha! I really dislike the "tab" sound in Tabitha (as well as it being a cat's name) but Talitha doesn't have either of those problems. Talitha would be a nice unusual choice :)

It sounds 'lispy' to me.
We had Talia on our shortlist for a girl, which is much nicer IMO

It's in the Times BA's today (Athena Cecily Talitha).

I've looked it up and it's an Aramaic name meaning 'little girl' or 'maiden'. It appears in the New Testament.

It was a very close second on our list for DD1.

DH had gone off it for the next DDs which saddened me.

I think it's lovely.

i love it and would have had it for my DD if DH has not veto'd it.

I don't like it but do like Talia which could also be shortened to Tally if you like the nn.

I'm not really keen. I used to know a Talitha and her name always reminded me of Tabitha, sorry.

Talitha and Felix? Shock Did they not get teased?

Talitha and Felix? Did they not get teased?

No - they were the 'posh family' in our area, where the other names are a lot more normal(!) but they were really nice and really confident kids, so it wasnt an issue at all!

I know a Talisha who's now 9 years old. But Talitha is nice too, I like it :)

I used to love the name Talitha when I was a kid, I think it was a character in a children's/young adult book? But for the life of me I can't remember which one...

I still like it, especially the nickname Tally since it is a bit of a mouthful.
