Brother for twins Sophia and Isabella?

abc123doremi · 23/02/2011 11:16

DH and I have 3 year old twin daughters called Sophia Mae and Isabella Rose. I am now expecting a son at the beginning of March.
This is our shortlist:

Oliver
William
Edward
Henry
Harry

Which goes best with Sophia and Isabella? And what middle names would you suggest?

Thank You

Any but I really like Oliver and Henry or Edward.

They are all lovely names. I have a William and if my last pregnancy had been a boy, I'd have had a Henry too. And Edward was my top choice for DS1 though it got relegated to being his middle name.

Oliver, Edward or Henry.

Harry is traditionally a NN for Henry.

All would work really well. I think I like Edward best, though not keen on it's NNs. If you shorten them then I think I'd go for William NN Billy or Henry NN Harry.

Think Oliver best with your DD names, though all are nice. Harry a bit less formal so doesn't match quite as well.

Oliver William/Joseph/Marcus/Benedict?

I like William best from your list - well, actually I like Edward best but given that you already have Isabella I would avoid Edward as a first name unless you are big fans of Twighlight.
You could have Edward as a middle name with any of your other choices, depending on your initial.

From the title of your thread though I would have suggested Alexander as the best name for Sophia and Isabella's brother before I saw your list :)

(I kind of hope you hate Alexander otherwise I might have made this more difficult for you!)

William, Edward or Henry would go very nicely :)

I like the name Oliver, but not sure it goes with Isabella as it reminds me of Isabella Oliver maternity wear

Harry is OK but nicknamey - how about Henry as full name, with Harry as nickname?

All lovely names, William gets my vote.
My ds is William and co-incidently has 3 year old twin sisters, one of whom is a Sophie!

They all go well Personally I would go with William or Edward as well I know fewer of those than the others.

Nice choice of name to go with the girls names

Oliver.
Do you think there will be a boom in Williams around the royal wedding?

William, but I'm biased as I have one!

If you use William please do not shorten it to Billy. Will is sooooo much nicer.

I quite like Willem too.

Edward is nice.
