Italian - English family with a 4 year old boy called Teo, need something easy to pronounce in both languages but we do live in England.

Personally love the nick name Ottie or Ollie
we both would like o have something which is not too frilly and could also be a boy's nick name.

Absolutely adore Ottilie :) One of my favourite girls names and the most logical for Ottie or Ollie as a nn, I think.

However, if your DH doesn't like it... I'm a big fan of Ottavia, too, as well as Elodie.

My dh and son say that a girl called Ottilie can be teased as it rhymes with potty and snotty or utterly butterly... not sure what it means though...

Funny though that everyone I talk to seems to like it. Is it becoming popular ? I just liked the sound of it and I thought that Ottoline - the new children book caracther is cool and independent, she reminds me a bit of Pippi long stockings

Olimpia - I agree it should really be spelled Olympia, and I don't like it that much

Ottilie - Hmmmm..not sure!

Isotta - I actually quite like this one! reminds me a bit of the old car BMW Isetta, but not in a bad way

Thanks Olimpia ( the spelling in Italian is with an i)is my grandmother's name and I loved her, but it sounds a bit too much I think for a little girl, even if it has quite a few possible nns.

Anyway really interesting feedback, Carlotta is quite popular in Italy but not really in England isn'it ? Is Lottie popular and can be used as a nn or also as a full name ?
