Twin Names Please Review :-)

Dear All,

I am new here, I am due with twins on 18th April 2011. Found out I am having a boy and a girl, which I am really happy about. I have picked out a name for each and would really like it if you could review them for me please. The names are:

Noah David-Jonathan
and
Chloe Florence-May

Just a little bit of history behind the name choices, David-Jonathan was picked as it was my grandads name and he sadly passed away before I was born, I visit him at the crematorium and lay flowers whenever I can, I feel I have a bond with him in a strange way. Florence-May is for my great nan who passed away when I was 5 years old, although I was only young when she passed away I have very fond memories of her.

Oh, btw popularity is not an issue for me. I look forward to reading your comments.

lovely names. think you would have to say 'chloe and noah' as 'noah and chloe' runs into each other more

Lovely names, really lovely.

Congratulations!
I think you have chosen lovely names! If our DC2 is a boy our favourite name is Noah so obviously I am biased!!
I genuinely think they are lovely and flow well together and even better they have a special meaning for you. Lovely to honour previous generations too, we did that with DD1 and will also with DC2. One thing - are you going to hyphenate the middle names for definite? I think they are just as nice as seperate middle names - I have 2 middle names and have always liked that!

Xmas Smile

Thanks Northernrose, since reading your comment about the hyphenating I am beginning to think it may look better if I don't hyphenated them. My thinking behind it, was so the third name didnt kind of get dropped off through time, but obviously I am worrying unnecessarily there :-) x

DD has three names and ok she's only 2.11 but even so, all the names are on passport etc. No intention of dropping them off. My brother has five names and uses them all :)

I would agree with Rockin..if ever I am using more than just my first name I always use all three (iykwim) and I would never just use the first two as that's not my name! In fact when I was younger and my bank registered me as my first two names and then my third initial rather than the full third name I wasn't too happy! And I was only wee, but I thought..that's not my name!

So..babygirl..wasn't really meaning to make you doubt the hyphen if you wanted it there, but just wondering out loud really, and they'll think of all three names as their own name so I doubt they would drop any off! And why would they, as they are lovely! Xmas Smile

Lovely names, but agree about hypenating them - just drop that and they'll be perfect. Congrats :)

Hi babygirl, love the names. I'm expecting twins too, due 20 March, though I don't think I will get that far. Why don't you join us over here? twins thread - we are very friendly

I think three names are fine as my DS has three. He, coincidentally is a Noah. I think Chloe is a bit chavvy and over used, but that may only be applicable round here and a few years ago. There are loads of 10 year old rougharses round here called Chloe.

I don't think Chloe's chavvy. I know a few Noahs that may be described by some as 'chavvy' that doesn't mean the name is.

Both Chloe and Noah are nice names, personally I wouldn't hypenate the middle names though.

There are no other Noah's round here. It is so subjective this naming lark. My Noah is 4. The chavvy Chloe's I am referring to are my dd's age and probably 10 and over.

They are lovely names but Chloe and Noah do sound a bit similiar and might be a bit tricky to say together

They are nice enough.
I love David though, so I would be more inclined to use that as a first name.
David and Chloe are stunning together. I haven't met a young Chloe for ages - I am not sure where they are all supposed to be!
Not too keen on noah myself. David Jonathan is gorgeous though. David Jonathan Noah is great!

I love Noah. But I would scrap Chloe as I agree it is a bey chavvy name to me imvho. If it has no special meaning to you, I would start again with that one. Maybe a name less 'rhymy'??! :)
