Well have to admit that's one I've never heard of. I think those are extremely different names and very different styles. You'd get a lot of and faces.

I don't understand how nicknames can be 'given'. A nickname should naturally derive from a name once the baby is born & you are using the name on a regular basis.

Daft. Her name is either Alexandra (or a variant of), or Scarlett. Both are gorgeous names - or perhaps you'd prefer the more exo'ic - Alexett or Scardra.

I'd call her Alexandra Scarlett on the birth cert, and Lexi for every day. Otherwise it's a mishmash!

At least she has 2 full names and lots of shortened versions to choose from when she wants to branch out :)

lol damn it, thought it might be a bit of a stretch. I know it's a lovely name and doesn't need a nickname, but I was trying to pre-empt any future shortenings by friends etc. my sons name is only one syllable but he still gets a nn from some people

And I absolutely can not use any 'alex' names of any variation due to a particular ex.

Its the name Amanda Holden gave her daughter, Lexi. If you don't mind being associated with that, or copying that it does sound fine.

It doesn't matter what nickname you use, her friends are unlikely to use it, they like to make pick their own! I speak from experience.

Me too dinosaurkisses!! Scarlett is such a lovely name on it's own, but I do understand the need for a nn before someone else chooses one for her! How about Arli /Ali or something along those lines?! ..tis hard

If it helps I know a Scarlett who is 9 now and her name is never shortened by anyone.
