Middle name to go with Indie

laurenamium · 10/11/2010 12:53

I have decided on Indie for the name of my little girl, I have posted before asking opinions of it and got a mixed bag but I do really like it so its staying Grin

But Im really struggling to find a middle name to go with it? I dont want Rose as its just too popular at the minute and I have a horse called Rosie...Any help appreciated!

I wanted to call a girl Indy! But I've managed to have two boys so far. It's a lovely name. I would have had a three syllable middle name to make it flow well. e.g. Indy Francesca

Beatrice
Victoria
Louise

Lots of things would sound fine with it. Probably not Anna though.

lol at tidey I liked Grace but was quickly informed that said in a hurry it would sound like 'in disgrace'

I have a 3 syllable sir name so thought a 1 syllable name would flow better, but Im open to suggestions Grin

Would Indie be short for anything?
There is a girl in DS's school called Indianna, with Indie for short and I think its lovely

You could then have Indianna Grace or Indianna Rose etc and it would flow really well

I did originally like India, but then said I would shorten it to Indie all the time anyway so I decided Indie would be her name rather than having one that's just going to get shortened

I always thought Indianna was a boys name?

Love Indie and India
I think Indigo sounds more like a boys name.

LOL @ Mackerel. I had similar thoughts.
It's just asking for cruel nicknames.

Indianna is the name I would love to call a daughter but not brave enough!!! Indie May, Indie Lara, Indie Alanna??

I second Lexx's May. Very popular at the moment but really does go with Indie. Some others:

Indie Estella
Indie Eliza
Indie Beth
Indie Bea

I would think that as laurenamium has decided on the name Indie and is definitely going to name her daughter it, it's a bit off to make mocking suggestions for middle names.

I have an India and her middle name is Clarabelle after one of her grandmothers. I didn't know about the cow connection before we named her though, so perhaps I wouldn't have chosen it armed with that knowledge. However, I still think it's a very pretty name and flows well.

Agree that Rose is too popular as a middle name now. Like the suggestion of May.

Oh, and my India is frequently shortened to Indy Smile

Laurenamium, you are a good sport. It is a lovely name, it's true that daft things can be tagged on to it, but since you're aware of that and still love it, it's a winner! There are very few names that can't be mucked about with.

I do feel that this topic would be redundant if only glowing comments were left about name choices!

laurenamium Thank you for taking my suggestions in the spirit they were intended. Grin FWIW (and I know you weren't asking opinions on the name) I actually think Indie is really a pretty name, so it wasn't a dig at your choice.

Seriously though, I like Indie Lola.

Second/third claps to laurenamium for having such a good sense of humour. I can poke fun because dd2 has the most popular name in the world EVER so obviously I am lacking in original thought Grin

You are a good sport but I still think calling her Indie is open to abuse. Why not register as India and use Indie as the nn.

Have you thought of her married name? A quick flick through the phone book gives:
Garrett
Green
Hall
Hart
Male
Moone
Potts
Raine

I too think a 1 syllable name sounds better. I'm having a little girl due in 10 day and have chosen the name Sienna Lucia which many people say sounds like a holiday resort but me and my DH love it so we're sticking with it :)
