Michael is lovely. Is Alexey a name on it's own? What is wrong with Alex?

Do you mean Alexei? Because Alexey looks like it's an adjective. "He was a bit Alexey"

michael - buble, nice, safe

alexey - parents had too much vodka before registering, forgot its an i not a y. alex is good enough i think.

it is possible to spell Alexei as Alexey (sorry not all of us are Brits!).

yes, Alexei is different than Alex (Alex is a diminitive form of Alexander). any constructive comments, apart from spelling, would be much appreaciated...

Michael and Alexei would make me think Russia. I think Alexei would be the standard English and acceptable spelling of the name, whereas the EY spelling would raise eyebrows even though it may be acceptable elsewhere.

As the mother of an Alexander Michael, I think they are flippng marvellous names Grin

I got comments that his name sounded Russian.
