could you please tell me what you think to my cards?

I started making some cards a couple of weeks ago. My homestart lady has bought a couple from me but I just wondered if I could have your honest opinions please? I do feel as though some of the later attempts (butterfly ones mainly) are a bit better than earlier ones. But I am not THAT sure about them, and want to know if it is worth me spending the money to buy any more stuff!! pictures are in my profile. thanks.

I thought they were okay but I must admit I preferred looking at the pics of your dog. I think the pics were a bit small to get the full benefit of the cards.

They all look lovely, although on a personal note, Im not sure about the dolphin one - i've never really quite got the point of them on greetings cards - they look a bit out of place iykwim? The cat one is a bit too plain also, imho.

The butterfly ones are gorgeous - absolutely lovely. I aspire to make ones like that.

ds2 chose the things to put the cat and the dolphin ones lol. i made them to give to his friends on their birthday really. lol.

Very similar to what I make. They should sell quite well. what are you marking them up at? I would bring mine into work and would sell for about £1.90 per card. Do you put them in the cellophane wrapper? oh and you should pay out for some lables to put on the back saying something like...Handmade by, poss with your name, home addy or at least your telephone number.

If you want to sell them in a shop, it wont be worth your while unless you are MASS producing like in the hundreds. the shop will take a big chunk for their profit leaving yhou with v.little to even cover your material cost, let alone your time to make a card. Oh another tip, once you have a design in mind, make batch loads of them. Its the designing I found, quite often, that takes the time. sitting thinking about what to make can take time.

(PS, I bought really GOOD quality card in bulk - accept cant remember where from now -but bought absolutely heaps, same with the envelopes - v.good quality - it does help sell the cards. cheap card - people dont buy again.)

i hadn't really got plans on selling them. just making them as a hobby really. something to do other than just being mum!! and as well i have always got some when theres a birthday coming up lol!
