I'm quite pleased with the matching Grin but... It's a very thick linen and I do not want to line it. How do I tidy the seams up?

Can you find someone with an over locker who could oblige got a bottle of wine? It's beautiful.

Overlocking after a bottle of wine is never a good idea ignore flossy.

Overlocking is good or you could put bias binding on your seams easily enough.

Lovely jacket by the way.

The 'sleeves' refers to the unorthodox way...of putting them in! There is a better photo of the material in the other thread.www.mumsnet.com/Talk/arts_and_crafts/2626261-Unorthodox-way-of-fitting-a-sleeve#prettyPhoto
I have zig-zagged everything and biased the facing. I will bias the hem but the arm hole still looks a mess. I am very nervous of machine sewing the bias on the arm hole, I'm not sure why.

It will be fine Silver. Pin it well and go slowly.

Not sure if the bit on Hong Kong seams will be helpful or not.

I meant FOR a bottle of wine! But if you have one you have a grateful recipient here.

I knew that really Flossy!

Binding would look good though! You could make flowery binding from half a metre of poly cotton, cheap as chips.

Thank you Lavendersun for the hand holding. I did exactly as you said and it worked. I did procrastinate for a few days....
When I sew a dress, I tidy the seams but they don't need to look good IYSWIM and other jackets I've sewn have been lined.
I am now very pleased with the result Smile
