I'm trying to find a template , or instruction on how to make a hanging tent, something like this
or a similar thing to go over my daughters bed like this
I'd be a very happy bunny if someone could help me

The Jane Asher fancy dress book has a pattern in - really it's for a 'circus tent' costume but would be easy to adapt. Lots of libraries have it but I'll see if I can find it online.

or you could buy a commercial pattern from Simplicity or Vogue

Thanks MrsBadger, the Vogue one looks just what I'm after. I'll see if I can find a UK link as the prices are US.

yeah - I coldn't find a 'buy online in the uk' site offhand - if you have a local fabric shop they normally have Vogue patterns. Or try John Lewis.

Found it but it's £10.95 as you get the patterns for all the 'fluff' too i.e. valance etc. and I don't really want that.
Think I'll try John Lewis or see if anyone else has any suggestions.
They can't be that difficult to make so I may have a go on a smaller toy scale first.
Nice ones are so expensive (£60 John Lewis) and I'm loathed to fork out on something I can probably make for less than half the price myself (how tight am I?)

Make the drapes by heming a piece of fabric then sewing/clipping onto a hula hoop.

Hang the hoop using cord onto a hook on the wall.

To make top cover part, take a piece of fabric, length = measurement from hoop up to hook doubled. Width = measurement from hoop up to hook. But piece would need to be cut into semicircular shape. Attach middle of straight edge to hook and circular edge to hoop.

I think this makes sense!!??
