I wondered if anyone had added shirring to the top of a skirt or made the simple elastic skirt with shirring that is a free download at T&TB.
I quite like simple long elasticated skirts, for summer days (how carefree that sounds ) , but I don't like the bulky bit at the top where the elastic does its job.
So, can an adult wear shirred garments without looking odd and if you have done anything like it does it eliminate the bulk?
It would use a lot less fabric than cutting on the bias, which is what I normally do. I have a few metre lengths of fabric that I could do this with, but that aren't long enough for my bias cut skirts.
Thank you wise people.
