Knitting for beginners

Can anyone recommend a really easy to follow book preferably with pictures for an absolute beginner? Have visions of knitting myself all kinds of fab stuff, don't even know how to hold a knitting needle!

this is a fab website, the videos are extremely helpful. i have just started and am half way through 2 ninja turtle jumpers which seem to be going well
