I'd like to try some tie dye activities at school with my class in September but am not quite sure how to start! Have any of you attempted this? What products could you recommend? Any tips at all would be great. Thanks so much.

Hi, I've done tie dye a few times with children and they loved it. You'll need a tonne of rubber bands, dylon dye and regular salt, a big bowl and enough cling film to cover it for each use.(woolies sell the dye). In the packets of dye you have the instructions so don't worry. I have always used the microwave, it works really well, and have never had anything run so to speak. The kids love using the microwave as the results are instant.. however I'm not sure about using one in the classroom, I guess it'll breach some health and safety rule. I'd buy a pack of dye or try the website try here and go from there. HTH!

Bought the products needed from the Dylon range today and will have a go this weekend with my 2 dds. I'm sure they will love it and I can practice prior to doing it with my class in September!
