Help! run out of yarn bought at Lidl!!

I bought Crelando Classic Knitting Yarn 'Meli' which is a mustard yellow colour, Aran weight yarn.
But I now realise I didn't buy enough. Customer services were nice and offered a refund but I've spent ages crocheting a cardi with only the sleeves to go. I probably need 2 more 50g balls.

Can anyone by any chance help?! It was in Lidl at the end of Jan. Did you buy some and have extra I could buy from you?! Please???!

Have you tried eBay? Did customer services say when special would be back on?

It won't be back on, the company cannot offer replacements (including extras) so that route is a dead end.

I tried ebay, there were some old auctions for the same brand wool but nothing in the same colour.

Anyone???

Its gonna be a cardi with different colour sleeves at the moment...

Have you tried Ravelry (ravelry.com)? You will have to choose a username and register, but it is quick and easy and free. Then you can go on the yarn forum and post your request. More chance really than MN or e.bay since it is a dedicated site for knitters and crocheters. Best of luck.

Are you on Mumsnet Yarnaholics Facebook group? They are compulsive yarn shopaholics canny buyers of bargain yarn and are very generous and helpful. One of them might have some.

O saw the mustard but bought the cream. I'll have a look in my local Lidl and see if they still have some mustard left.

I'll nip into my local Lidl tomorrow and buy lots of pastries and look for you. We seem to be in a backwater here so could be a couple of weeks behind other stores. Smile

Sorry, no luck I'm afraid. Sad

Dutchoma - thank you so much, I'm on Ravelry already but had only ever looked for patterns really. I've just posted a plea there, so fingers crossed...

Woolly - I tried searching for the group on FB but got nowhere, is it still current?

Thanks everyone for your help. DM has suggested I go for a shade darker for the sleeves and an edging around the whole thing, which I can try if no miracles happen. Its just so annoying!

I'm a relative rookie so will put it down to experience.

Phone customer services again, they can search all the stores in the UK and tell you which ones have stock. (I work in Lidl HQ)

Oops, I drafted that post last night. Have just checked the thread and, I can't believe it but someone has found some of the same yarn in their stash and is willing to sell it to me!!

Thank you all for your suggestions, one happy lady down here in Somerset!
Thanks

Hi Loosing - I asked them to do that and they said there wasn't any anywhere. It was almost a month ago. I should have realised sooner, but see my post above - great news!

Hoi I bought some but it's cocoa and ochre ? It's chunky for 8-9 needles . Your welcome to it if it will finish your work?

Have you still got this yarn? I'm also running short!

Report
Margotsgran · 28/06/2014 19:48

I bought it from Lidl and it is chunky 100% merino wool "meli" mustard yellow. 2 or 3 50 gram balls would finish the jacket!

I know it is a while since you posted, but any chance that you still have the cocoa and ochre crelando carmen (pom pom effect) wool? What is it like, starting a project and not having enough yarn?
