Pom poms and feathers etc.

Paint-it-yourself crockery and models, to build up a stock of pressies for grannies etc. I got some very tacky rspca resin animals to paint from Woolies in the sale.

Def not Floam... sooo pricey!!

balloons and old newspaper for paper mache messy fun.
My 5 yr old is really into Hama Beads
Shrinkies are good too - those kits that you colour in and then shrink in the oven like we all did in the 80s with crisp packets!
Mixing all sorts into the paint keeps painting interesting. Icing sugar goes lovely and crackly and shiny, oats are bumpy and nice, baby oil makes gorgeous pictures, salt also is interesting to add.
Make your own gloop with a little food colouring in
Junk model robots
Tissue paper flowers with straws are always popular
Homemade kites are great fun to make
Any old shoe boxes around that will make fab homemade "fish tanks" with string, paper, paint etc, cut out a window in the front etc etc
Homemade volcanoes are a must with bicarb of soda (rather American but good fun)
Bubble pictures with paint, washing up liquid, a straw and BLOWING and not SUCKING !!
Make your own dressing up clothes with bin bags, egg cartons, paper crowns etc for fab robots/princesses/kings/clowns etc

I can?t wait for the hols, I love the excuse to get messy

Air drying clay is v good (cheap in ELC)
huge long rolls of paper (again ELC) for huge long enormous drawings, or footprint paintings

Hot weather has sapped my intellect, can't think of anything
