Calico and cottons

I'm looking for a cheap source of calico and printed cottons in \link{http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/thestore/images/gallery/albums/album05/wm90_2659NL.jpg\these sorts of colours}. It's for a group project of making christmas decs.

The cheap fabrics website does calico at £2.50/metre and the cottons at £4.49 per metre but I only want smallish pieces - maybe 0.3m or 0.5m of the cottons in about 4 or 5 prints.

Has anyone used cheapfabrics.co.uk? Any good? Or are there others you prefer?

Please help! I feel strangely out of my depth with this even though I spent most of my childhood in fabric shops with my mum, there are few around now and internet shopping doesn't have the touchy feely quality iyswim.

I've used them and they were good. I've also used \link{http://www.online-fabrics.co.uk/?\Online Fabrics}- their calico is more expensive (but wider) but their cotton might be worth a look. I also wonder from the sizes you need whether it would be worth looking for "fat quarters", the size used for patchwork (25" by 182, it's an American thing...) and trying to get mixed packs? \link{http://www.cottonpatch.co.uk/acatalog/Fabric.html\Cotton Patch} looks worth trying, for example, and they also sell cheap calico.

Hi There have tried cheapfabrics.co.uk . Wasnt happy. Tried their Company as they boast cheap shipping. Placed an Order with them. Still hasnt arrived. All I wanted was Cheap POlycotton. Used www.online-fabrics.co.uk instead. Place my first order with them on Monday and fabric order was with me on Tuesday morning beautifully packaged and the fabric was really good quality.(£1.75 metre). Hope that helps.
