I always buy ready made cards because ones you fold yourself never look as professional. You can buy tools to help with creasing and folding but I've never bothered as the colour selection is so much greater when you buy them.

I use a PVA to stick on embelishments - one that dries completely clear. I put a blob on a spare piece of card and then apply it with a cocktail stick so I don't use too much.

basically you can taer pretty much anyhting, but for the really feathered look you need to tear mulberry paper, like thick tissue paper with visible fibres in it.

what is vellum?

like posh tracing paper, can be plain or patterned and it a bit see through.

if you have embelishments whats the best way to stick them on?

\link{http://www.creativecardcraft.com/MINI%20GLUE%20DOTS.jpg\glue dots, they come in different sizes} or glue or double-sided sticky tape,

dp you buy plain card or buy ready made card?

i buy plian card and fold my own - i have \link{http://www.diestodiefor.co.uk/images/A5.jpg\an accucraese board to give it the professional clean crisp fold}
if you have a \link{http://www.thepapermillshop.co.uk/\papermill shop near you} then they are really cheap - box of A4 card at £6.99 and you get 100+ sheets in a box, so would make 200 A5 cards and they have laods and laods of colours and a few differnt textures.

happy crafting

riddo- it shows you how to do a link in the little box to the right of the box you type your message in

To insert a link to a web site, type
\link{url\description} - where url is the .... address of the site, and description is the text you want to appear in your message. So to link to bbc news you could type
have a look at \link{http://news.bbc.co.uk\this}

I use anitas tacky glue as a preference, it's a thick PVA.

I use ready made card blanks mainly but only coz I don't have an accucrease

don't get the vellum wet, it wrinkles, and be careful what yu adhre it with- vellum glue, brads / eyelets, or wilkinsons do a double sided tape that seems to work (the one with no backing paper)

vellum looks fab if you screw it up in your hand, flatten a bit, then dab an ink pad over the top.

redbull....the jagged edge rulers are quite expensive....you can achieve the same effect by using a normal ruler. Just place the ruler a few mm away from the edge you want to tear...if you pull the paper towards you you get a different effect to that if you tore the paper away from you....probably not explained that well....but just grab a piece of card and tear a piece in one direction....then tear a strip in the opposite direction and you will see what I mean....well I hope you do!

Got another question i really like the look of embossing with heat, is that the only way to use the heat thingy like can you fill in using it and what would you use to stick the powder on with it?? as i know with the stamps its the ink that sticks it.

Don't use pre folded cards all of the time, I find that if you use a metal ruler, a decent cutting mat with squares on and a bone folder, you can do exactly what they do when they fold cards anyway. Also it's cheaper than buying pre folded. If you line your card up on your mat, find the centre and score a fold using metal ruler & BF, then turn over and do the other side, then fold. I don't always do this, sometimes I fold manually and use the BF to run down the crease giving a really crisp fold. You can't really do it on shiny papers as they mark but matt card you can.

Sorry that should have read, 'I' don't use pre folded cards all of the time.

For glueing, I swear by Double sided tape. I only use the one made by sellotape. To raise stuff off the card I use double sided foam tape/pads. Poundland do them. I only use glue very very occasionally and then its with a toothpick for letters & tiny things.

or you can use an embossing tool to mark the actual crease and a bone folder to fold after

You can use the heat tool for embossing shapes into funky foam, triple embossing, etc. You can use magic motifs to stick powder on in a pattern, or clear ink in pens (versamark are the best I reckon). Is that what you wanted to know?
