i've posted this in arts and crafts as i thought mn's with a flair in this area would understand this more. in a nutshell, i did a textile degree and have worked designing needlecrafts for a large manufacturer for 11 years. we are in the process of relocating as our circumstances have completely changed while i've been on maternity leave. dh, the portrait painter, after being self employed for 13 years, has a teaching/research post on an illustration degree course which means he can do this and also continue painting and i will become a sahm whilst we get settled after the move.

i'm due back at work mid may, so i'm at that point when i have to give 4 weeks notice that i'm not going back eeeeeeeeeek!. for anyone of a 'crafty' persuasion, it is a dream job i am leaving. i never thought i would ever voluntarily quit and although i'm delighted to be able to be spending more time with dd and ds while they're little, part of me is dreading making this all official. please tell me it'll all be ok Smile

it's never as much fun to do it as leisure if you do it all day too - you may find giving it up actually boosts your creativity

well, the deed is done. 4 weeks notice to serve whilst still officially on maternity leave. as from the 12th May, i am officially a sahm, or is that a wahm if i freelance Grin. i was really nervous but feel much better now its all over with. sad to be calling an end to the job, have worked there for 11 years, but am keen to see how things turn out over the next few months as our impending relocation takes place.

fio - i did structured textiles (weaving and embroidery) at leicester poly
