what is it?

Its a mini scrapbook.
You pick a theme for your book and start it off and then pass it on to the next person in the group. Everyone makes one with a different theme and every month pass it on to the next.Eventually you get your book back but everyone else has contributed to the making of it.

while we are at it - anyone have any suggestoins for product... a friend has asked that all the guests (children) take a photo of themselves to her dd's 2nd birthday party so they can make a montage. She has also insisted 'no presents' but I was thinking about getting together with some others and purchasing a scrapbook and b&p's so that she can put all the photos together with her dd. I think it would be a fun thing for the two of them to do together. Please let me know any recommendations, ta

Bettaware do a scrapbook starter set which is apper, embellishments etc and would be ideal for this . ELC do one as well that would be ideal.

Ive got a set of instructions for CJ's that I have sent to YG.

When those who want to join up have added their name then maybe YG can mail those details out to all taking part??????????

The idea is that everyone makes a book and starts it off with their chosen theme. LO's are done and include photos. The normal size for CJ's is less than 8x8, due to postage costs etc.

Maybe YG will be along later to set a deadline for people to sign up by and to give us a start date etc. It'll be after Xmas now so we have plenty of time to get thinking and adding those wanted bits to our christmas lists

AQ.

Each person picks a theme for their CJ. I am already in a couple of other CJ groups and the themes picked for those have been along the lines of

"The Beach", "Animals", "Music", "The Seasons" etc, etc.

Each person then interprets the theme in their own way by using colours, papers etc that they feel best matche the theme.

In my recent CJ I chose "The Beach"....to me the beach means an uncontrolable force because when I think of the beach instantly I think of the sea and how little control man has over it. All the colours I choose were blue and have a very raw and natural feel....BUT to someone else they think of the beach and think of candy floss and deck chairs...so their LO would represent that.

Piccies are included but they arent snap shots of johnnie smiling for the camera. The pictures should represent how you feel about the theme...so if someone chose Music as a theme the piccies could be of your favourite album cover, or a sheet of your favourite music or song lyrics, or a piccie of your favourite singer.

You end up with a book back that is filled with pages that have been made using so many different techniques that you wouldnt see in a mag and having them there to physically inspect makes such a big difference.

The CJ's I have done have all been made using sarah books as they do not weigh very heavy and make postage less expensive....sarah books cost £3.50...but can be difficult to get hold of...I have a pile sitting in a box going spare

Alteratively you can make your CJ out of a paperbag book, which are so easy to make and look fab when decorated.
this is one way you can make a paper bag book
