Nucal test results

I am 43 years old, 14+4 weeks with twins (first pregnancy, IVF) and I'm worrying myself silly over my nucal test results. One twin had a measurement of 1.4mm and overall result of 1:2400 which is great but the other twin had a measurement of 2.6mm and overall result of 1:190. The letter stated they were both low risk but the second twin seems very borderline, high risk is 1:150.

Has anyone else had this result or similar? I'm off to see my consultant in a couple of days but just wanted some reassurance in the meantime.

Thank you.

I had a similar-ish number to your second twin, I went ahead and paid for the Harmony blood test. Have you heard of that? You can google and read up on it I am sure.

Thank you, I will google that now. How were your results? Were you put at ease?

I had a singleton pregnancy and my result came back as 1:156 or thereabouts so only just low risk but I assumed it was the the actual measurement - which was 2.7mm for me - which made the odds higher. I knew it was nearer the higher end of normal but this was also easily explained by the fact that I was 13+5 (later the gestation, thicker the fold) and he was in a slightly crappy position so harder to measure. Everything else about the scan was fine, not the slightest hint of anything to worry about.

I never gave it a second thought. Smile The midwives and my consultant didn't bat an eyelid at it.

I know that the worry comes from the contrasting measurement. With my first, the odds were 1:17,000 so it was a bit of a surprise but not one that worried me.
