From your experience, what do you think about my results? What were your results? Outcome?

At 13 weeks 3 days my screening results were:

CRL 74.5 mm
NT 2.4 mm 1.39 MoM
Free beta-hCG 1.82 MoM
PAPP-A 1.32 MoM
Nasal bone present

Age risk (41) 1:74

Trisomy 21 Risk - 1:151

Trisomy 13 & 18 Risk - 1:10,000

On my very limited knowledge from conversations with docs at kings I'd say your risk is based mostly on age (sorry if that sounds harsh, it's not meant to)

They told me low hcg and low Papp a point to a t13 or t18 risk (obviously why you have a low risk for these)

For a high risk t21 generally the hcg is double that of the papp a (one being elevated or the other very low) which it doesn't look like you have (you need to look at the MoM btw)

If you're concerned (I understand why that ratio would concern you) could you pay for a private harmony test? That might give you different results.

The other option, obviously, is a cvs or amnio but they're fairly invasive and I'm not sure they do it with those bloods and no soft markers on the scan.

Btw my results were;

Hcg 0.12 MoM
Papp a 0.08 MoM

Scan clear at 12 weeks and 19 weeks although baby was on 5th centile.

21 week 1 soft marker at regular ultrasound, 4/5 soft markers at Kings.

Amnio positive for t18 edwards.

Our little girl was born at 22+2.

Just to give you some numbers to compare to if that helps. My bloods were very low but there were no soft markers until much later.

I actually did the Harmony test, just waiting for the results. I've done quite a bit of research out of stress, and there seems to be a pattern of HIGH Hcg and LOW Papp-a for Trisomy 21. As my results are above the 1.0, it seems odd. Maybe I just have a larger placenta than normal? That was one other reason for HIGH Hcg levels.

Your test results actually reduce your age-related risk, which is good. I wouldn't worry too much about individual values - for trisomies, it is a combination that matters, and they are not so far from normal to show other problems. Hope your Harmony results will confirm that.

Yay! That's wonderful news.

I guess you just have a mahooosive placenta then (not a bad thing)

I hope you can get on with enjoying your pregnancy now :)

Thanks for updating, I stupidly worry if these threads aren't updated x
