Can someone tell me the risk of amnio?

I am pregnant and I have bipolar. Unfortunately I concieved while manic and don't know who the father is (please don't judge me I am trapped in a abusive relationship under threat of having my dc removed) a amnio will tell me won't it? If so what are the risks?
I had a friend who had one and lost her baby so I am very scared of this but under pressure to undergo this test.

I wouldn't like to quote the wrong figure, but there is a small risk.

No judging here, but I am worried about you.
You say you are trapped in an abusive relationship -have you spoken to anyone?

Is an amnio for DNA? Who is pressuring you? How far along are you? Could you get it done when the baby is born? Have you spoken to your midwife about the pressure being put on you or the amnio

I have only just found out I am pregnant. I have been sleeping with DH and my best friend. Dh is abusive and is unaware I have been sleeping around. Best friend is pressuring for amnio when I want to wait till baby is here.

Ok. Tell your best friend to wait until baby is here. No discussion no arguments, that's how it will be.

Is there any family or friends you can confide in. GP or midwife?

Sorry for your predicament, it sounds very difficult.
I'm not at all sure they would do an amino just to test paternity, if there was no medical justification. The risk to baby is usually stated as 1% risk of miscarriage but in reality is lower than that. But it is a risk you don't need to take - wait until baby is here xx

Thank you I will wait that is my instinct and thanks all for not judging.
