Post-abortion help needed asap please

I had an abortion 3 weeks ago and have the check up today, in about an hour. Is it vital to go? I've heard it's just to check for an infection, but a 100mile round drive just to check for that when I have no symptoms seems a bit silly - or does it?

Has anyone else skipped their 2/3 week check up?

Also, did they give you antibiotics to take after the termination as I never got prescribed any.

Thanks.

No I didn't get antibiotics. I didn't get a check up either. You could see GP if worried?

I did attend the check-up but was told when I got there that I was the first person who they had seen attend for a long time Confused. There was no physical exam, just a chat iirc, and a wasted trip for me personally. No antibiotics offered though I did get an infection several weeks later that they attributed to the termination. This was many years ago though so things may well have changed.

Hi Hawk, did you go to your appointment in the end yesterday? I had a termination last week and was given anti-biotics, maybe it depends on your area/primary care trust?
Hope you are doing ok otherwise xxx

Thank you for your replies Smile

No I didn't go in the end Fluffy! I most likely would have if it was a 15 odd minute drive, but it's an hour and a half there plus another hour and a half back Hmm I've just realised I was supposed to take a prescription after the op and get 2 tablets called 'Norlevo' but I didn't as I hadn't noticed Confused

Well otherwise though thank you Fluff, hope you are too! Smile xxx
