High hcg - please advise if you can

Hello,

My beta HCG level has come up at 8.10 MOM (ie 8 times higher than average)

Pappa and the other one (can't think of the name now) were both ok at around 1.

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the advice/outcome?

Downs risk is 1 in 700.

Thanks in advance

Your odds are good. Suggest you ask what it means or try arc helpline for info. They are really helpful.

Did you have an nt too?

Thanks.

I'm not worried about Downs as my PAPP-A and NT were both fine.
I'm worried about placental insufficiency and a low birth weight baby.

Hospital say they have changed its policy and no longer offer extra screening for high hcg levels in isolation.

So i'm wondering if anyone else had had a similar result and how it is being managed at a different hospital.

The people on the ARC helpline were very nice, but really just said that I need to ask the consultant again.
