I'm 27 weeks and have developed really bad anxiety and depression, spoke to my gp who fobbed me off telling me to speak to the midwifeand gave me a generic self Referal number.

The community midwife team had a go on the phone as apparently gp should have referred me straight through then gave me another number to call to self refer and told me to make another appointment with the midwife team as it's unlikely I'll get any help before I'm due other than medication.

I don't want to take medication does anyone have any ideas on how to get some kind of cbt before I give birth I really don't want this to turn into postnatal depression and affect the baby.

You should be fast tracked if you are pregnant, I was seen really quickly when I was. Go back to your gp and your mw, have you got a health visitor yet? All these three should be working together to get you help.
Good luck, kx

They just said I need to self refer and I am unlikely to be seen before the baby is born, the midwife said they've cut funding for the antenatal services so now you just take your chances on the normal waiting list?

Seeing midwife Monday will try to see if I can get seen any quicker thanks for the reply
