My Father in law and I sometimes communicate by email to make arrangements for me and dh and FIL and MIL to meet, so he has my email address. Yesterday he forwarded me a joke he'd been sent by someone else. It's a racist joke against people wearing a burkha. It had no message or comment from him though def not a virus so I can only assume he thought I would find it funny. I am outraged.
Should I ignore it do you think or reply saying I don't think it is appropriate. I am pregnant with first and of course if he ever says something racist in front of baby once born I will object, but in terms of keeping the peace now shall I just ignore it unless he brings it up? Trouble is, I feel ignoring it is tacitly agreeing that it is funny when it really isn't.
It is a joke that is doing the rounds btw - my dh says he was shown it by someone at work. He agrees FIL should not have sent it but thinks best to just ignore it.
