to have no sympathy for DH

as I don't think he's as ill as he's making out he is.

He spent about an hour in bed this afternoon as he said he ached all over and was shivery. Seemed to come on v suddenly. He then got up and said he still wasn't feeling well but has managed to eat an ice cream, a slab of chocolate and he phoned for a curry take away for himself!
He was too ill to do DS's bath

Maybe I'm just a mean wife but I accept he's not 100% but not that he's quite as ill as he was making out! As a result I don't seem to have an ounce of sympathy!

YABU - I've felt like that before, but perked up after having some food. That's probably why he feels better now.

Oooh my H was like this. I was completely unsympathetic every time too. His "illnesses" always happened at weekends, were always annoyingly vague "symptoms" like "achy, weak and shivery" (never an actual sneeze or cough or temperature), then miraculously cured after DC were in bed.

that's funny, my dh is also only ever ill at the week-end. Then he perks up for Monday morning.

Yes, 2weeks ago at the wkend. Don't think he had curry then but I'm sure he felt well enough by the evening to eat main meal.

Part of my issue is that I've been ill with athroat infection that needed 10 days of ABs which I finished on Fri. I still kept going although for 2 nights DH did get up to DS when he woke in the night.

That's why I'm up now - DS woke up. DH just said "He's awake. I can't go as I'm sweaty"

Fab - that's exactly what I said to DH!

He's been out in the garden constructing a veg patch with a little fence round it (to dog proof it!) this afternoon which is great. I just hope he doesn't come in, collapse and tell me how ill he now feels!
