I ordered some clothes for DS on the 26th March.

I thought they were taking a while to arrive but put it down to disruption 'cos of Easter, but yesterday checked the 'track your order' thing and discovered that according to the courier they had tried to deliver several times.

So - I've had problems with deliveries before - there's a similar address a few miles away and for some reason some of my stuff goes there. So I rang them and explained that the delivery must be going to the wrong house as we hadn't got any cards through the door (you know those 'failed delivery ones) and could they please phone the courier and check they were delivering to the right area.

About 2pm (6 hours after I rang) I got a voicemail message saying the package was out for delivery (I told them that after tracking the order) and that they would be putting in a complaint about the courier not leaving the cards.

Rang back, explained (again) what I thought the problem was, and could they tell me if anyone had actually contacted the courier? No, she could only tell me the courier was delivering the package today and it was the courier company's problem, not theirs, and basically, tough luck. I asked what they were going to do if the package didn't get delivered today and she said 'I suppose you'll have to ring back'.

And no, it hasn't arrived!

I have found them utterly useless in the past. Sorry, realise that is no help to you at all but I feel your pain.

Try taking the names and direct lines of anyone you speak to, it tends to panic people into being more helpful, if they think they might be held accountable should you go to head office.

Good luck (their stuff is nice so hopefully it won't spoil it too much when it does eventually reach you).

They are part of LaRedoute, no?

I ordered a coat from them once. They took my money, confirmed order, gave a delivery date. Then said it was out of stock. They kept hold of my money. Then the coat was back in stock, great, please send me one. They sent me two. Which the delivery driver wouldn't give me unless I paid for them both. They went back. I called, they promised delivery of the coat that I had paid for. Cue two coats and delivery driver trying to bill me again. They went back. Eventually, I got my coat. I didn't really want it by then.

I couldn't recommend them highly enough

I refuse to buy from them ever again. It was over something really trivial but actually very easy for them to resolve.

I had bought loads from them so I took the huff.

Their loss.

Oh God they don't get any better do they?

It must be nearly a dozen years since I tried them but I was hacked off by the long delivery times for everything. Even things that they had "in stock" took a minimum of 10 days. A number of items I ordered took 4-6 weeks and one coat I ordered for DD took 8-10 weeks. At that age (2-3) that sort of delay is pretty crap because they can have nearly grown out of it by the time you get it.

I gave up on them after that.

I too have had lots of problems with both LaRedoute and Verbaudet - they lost some items that I returned and when I refused to pay they issued a default notice on my credit record !!!!! Only when I threatened to sue did they remove it but this was 6 months later

Needless to say I won't deal with them ever again they are completely useless

Vertbaudet are useless - I placed and order with them once, never again - slow delivery, wrong charging, delays on refunding, and that was one order.

Oh Bloody Hell.

So next move? Ring again tomorrow? Write a really snotty letter? Cancel the whole thing? I'm really annoyed - I'm on a strict budget at the mo and have done a lot of saving so I could buy a few nice things for DS.

Cancel the whole bloody thing, find similar vertbaudet items on ebay and save yourself the pain

Sorry - I really hate vertbaudet!

I ordered some tops on 30 December and just got them 2 weeks ago! They had trouble with my address too but with no excuse as no-one else ever has and I do heaps of mail order (hurrah for e-bay) The tops are nice tho and excellent value. Hoping a summer order will come through a bit quicker but looks like I have no cause for optimism.

Vertbaudet do my bloody head in. I've only ordered from them because I couldn't find anything similar elsewhere.

They annoy me because there is no need for them to be so rubbish.

Not just me then - I ordered a sleeping bag from them, they sent me the wrong one, then sent me the same (wrong) one again, then it turned out that they had the picture wrong on the website (which I noticed they still haven't bothered change yet) so the product I wanted didn't exist.

Idiots. Would never order from them again.

Feeling your pain.

I ordered clothes from them for my DC - 8 weeks later still no delivery. Turns out they had delivered it to my previous address(hadn't lived there for 10 months) However, no one had been in and the clothes were left with a neighbour. The company asked me to go to my old street and chap on the doors asking who had the parcel! They claimed it was an honest error on there part. Needless to say I closed my account that day.

I've had a similar experience when waiting for lego for christmas.
That parcel force are a nightmare to deal with too - fibbing about not being anyone in, when actually they never came etc.

Isn't there something on letters/correspondance from them saying 'we're busy Mum's too, just trying to do our best' or similar?

I rang again yesterday morning - was told that they hadn't 'had the full detail' (despite me telling them twice the day before) and they would contact the courier (which they said they already had done the day before) and that a supervisor would ring me. They didn't. And no package.

This morning the courier parcel tracking site is showing that my parcel has been delivered to the shed. Hooray! Except I haven't got a bloody shed.

So ring them again this morning, told them I haven't got a shed. Or my clothes. At first she said it didn't say that on her screen, it said they'd tried to deliver yesterday. I told her they hadn't and started to explain the wrong address thing and she interrupted me (!) and said 'yes they did'.

I asked to speak to her supervisor and she went straight off - came back and said her supervisor suddenly 'wasn't in yet' and that she would ring me.

Put your complaint in writing, stating how you want the problem to be resolved and give then 10 days from receipt to answear you. Send the letter recorded delivery and tell them your next step is to contact Trading standards. Once it is resolved I would cancel my account. If they are running a mail order company then these are fundamental things which they must get right. Trying their best isn't good enough - they are running a business. It doesn't matter how good the clothes are if you can't actually get them! Feel really sorry for you - it is maddening

I share your pain, I have had exactly the same problem, been waiting for some clothes since start of march, they told me they had techical issues, then they dupilicated my order and advised they were both out for delivery, never arrived, have told them to cancel my order, all the staff seem so scripted and no one seems to care or do anything to help, I have spoken to at least 12 members of staff and they all tell me different things, I am amazed they are still in business!! I will be writing the their head office to complain, probably won't do any good but will make me feel better!
