in not appreciating an email saying "I am hoping many of us are getting the norovirus at this time" as your child will now be required to sell toiletpaper to your neighbours

from a father at my sons football practice?

The football club is going to start selling toiletpaper to make money. The kids are supposed to go from door to door offering toilet paper to aid the club....

Mental. But quite inspired in terms of fundraising. It's so off-the-wall I bet they sell tons just because people are bemused / amused.

Is it normal bog standard toilet paper (geddit?)

I know, wouldnt you buy toilet paper from a 7 year old knocking on your door? It is not like you can say "sorry, we dont use toiletpaper" (well, I know some people dont, but this is rare around these parts)

No, it is cobranded. Go to the loo and think of football!

Is their team going down the pan?

Actually, I love this, it's brilliant. I'd far rather buy comedy loo roll than sponsor another bloody swim/bike ride/run.

Tell your son to put me down for a four pack (no novovirus yet).

Children aren't allowed to sell stuff - door to door or otherwise AFAIK.

Why not do a tie-in promotion with the local curry house or dubious fast-food shop? Or indeed the farmers' market - Get your Extra Roughage Here - and Deal With The Consequences!

  • but presumably they will be expecting a responsible adult to go along as well? So will that mean you also have to double as a loo-roll trader?

I think I have to double as a loo roll trader, lol!

I will be quite the trader, as I have just sold my fathers unopened tins of war time tobacco!

oooo what did you sell them for eventually quint - did you accept that offer?

£140!
But I did find a few antiques websites and researched prices, and it is a fair price.

sounds good - have to say I did think the initial offer that you mention sounded a little low as it wasn't much more than just buying new packs of tobacco in the shop would cost - so didn't really seem to factor in the age of the boxes etc

no it is because the tobacco is so old, that the price of tobacco no longer enters the equation, apparently!
