There was one SITTING in the food today

I haven't seen any birds since Saturday.

Water pistol, right up the backside.

YANBU. It's a humane way of teaching them.

YANBU at all.I have two cats myself and keep a water pistol on the windowsill in case they go near the bird table[neither has ever caught anything bigger than a fly].

Yes! I need to dig out the DSs' water pistol. I have been using the hose, but it gives them too much warning.

We only just managed to persuade the birds to come in our garden, they came during the snow and then carried on, so it hasn't been long.

The neighbours' many cats have already sussed it though, and sit on the shed roof or fence in wait. Good for nothing stinkers.

Our garden is tiny, so I need to think of a way of feeding which makes it safe for the birds to come in

Spray the cats! My neighbours likes to poo in my newly planted vegetable beds, and although a quick blast with the hosepipe doesn't seem to put them off it makes me feel better.

Not unreasonable at all, asuming if i caught you spraying my cat's, it would be reasonable behaviour for me too kick you up the arse

Get yourself one of those big, pump action water rifle thingies and have fun!

There are two cats that scare off my birds all the time and I could strangle the little sods. They also crap in my kitchen, rip up my furniture, leave hair all over the house and vomit on the carpet on a regular basis. Yes, they're MY cats and I still hate them, they're old and they smell and it's about time they popped off! Foul disgusting things.

Actually, do you fancy coming round to mine with your water pistol?
