He's just had twins, Brook and Drew. One was going to be a boy (apparently) and one a girl, but now I'm embarrassed because I can't tell from the names which is which.

Had decided Brook was the girl but then saw drew in pink....

LOL oh dear

cookielove Sat 21-Nov-09 21:45:45

i think brook is female version is brooke, but don't hold me to that, i say offer to change a nappy?

5inthebed Sat 21-Nov-09 21:45:49

I'd saw Brook is a girl and Drew is the boy.

Ivykaty44 Sat 21-Nov-09 21:45:52

oferto change nappy and see what you find

ooops - reminds me of when I went for lunch at my eccentric vicars house one Sunday. He left me there with a couple who were also coming for dinner - called Chris and Charlie.......

I had to ask which was which blush.

mrscrocoduck Sat 21-Nov-09 21:46:21

LOL cookielove!!! That'd do it! But they're 100s of miles away.

differentID Sat 21-Nov-09 21:46:42

oh dear. Maybe he was thinking of Drew Barrymore as an influence?

Oooops

well just ask, or ask your mum?

SarahSon Sat 21-Nov-09 21:48:03

Drew Barrymoore is female hmm

I understand you pain but both names culd be both sexes so why not just ask, or do the nappy thing of course!

SarahSon Sat 21-Nov-09 21:48:33

Lol - xpost with diff!

cookielove Sat 21-Nov-09 21:49:01

hmmm hopefully next time you see them, they may have changed enough to look like a boy or girl (i hope)

MaggieBelle Sat 21-Nov-09 21:49:02

Brook girl, drew boy.

I've heard worse, and they're both a bit androgenous, but I've heard worse.

rasputin Sat 21-Nov-09 21:49:29

Ask about the middle names.

Bound to be less unisex.

MaggieBelle Sat 21-Nov-09 21:50:27

good plan!

differentID Sat 21-Nov-09 21:52:25

unless the middle names are Ashley and Morgan

mrscrocoduck Sat 21-Nov-09 21:53:04

i don't talk to my mum and he barely does...

I just hate those names, they bring to mind real trouble-makers (that's the school teacher in me coming out...).

Why does he have to be such a chav. And no, we're not close.

alwayslookingforanswers Sat 21-Nov-09 21:53:15

or Alex and Sam

pooexplosions Sat 21-Nov-09 22:31:32

are you sure they are a boy and a girl?

If Brook is a girl she's missing an E, and if Dre is a girl then she has a brother ith a stoopid name, and parents ho named her after a bad rom-com actress.

But at least they hae a fabulous aunt if nothing else! grin

mrscrocoduck Sun 22-Nov-09 06:42:12

you're not wrong pooexplosions...!

Am now suspecting they're non-identical girls... have asked him on a popular social networking site for clarification. Will probably never speak to me again.

When you said in your OP one was going to be a boy and one a girl do you mean as far as scans showed?

I think it's Brook the girl if not. Have heard Drew for both but only ever Brook(e) for a girl..

Shame you're not close always nice to cuddle a newborn that you didn't have to give birth to! grin

ps good morning always nice to see someone else up this early on a Sunday.

mrscrocoduck Sun 22-Nov-09 09:16:36

morning!! I have no life...

well... turns out that Brook is a BOY! and Drew is a girl.

Bloody hell.

I'm so ashamed. Might as well have called them Firestarter and Asbo.

FaintlyMacabre Sun 22-Nov-09 09:21:07

Oh dear. They are going to spend their entire lives (until they are old enough to do things as individuals) being muddled up. You'd think that having different sex twins would make life easier in that respect, not more difficult.

cookielove Sun 22-Nov-09 11:52:56

well at least now you know
